Assessment of fluency in the Test of English for Educational Purposes

The main aim of this study was to investigate how oral fluency is assessed across different levels proficiency in the Test English for Educational Purposes (TEEP). Working with data from 56 test-takers performing a monologic task at range (equivalent approximately 5.0, 5.5, 6.5, and 7.5 IELTS scoring system), we used PRAAT analysis measure speed, breakdown, repair fluency. A multivariate variance series analyses were examine differences between measures these proficiency. results largely replicate previous research area suggesting that (a) speed distinguish lower (5.0 5.5) higher (6.5 7.5), (b) breakdown silent pauses 5.0 6.5 or 7.5, (c) filled do not any levels.
